Since assuming the principalship in 2013, Dr. Sherlock has demonstrated sustained commitment and visionary leadership.
Guided by the school’s Four Pillars—community, Inclusion, Tradition, and Excellence—he fosters a welcoming and supportive environment where every student feels they belong and where academic achievement and personal growth flourish.
Dr. Sherlock earned his bachelor’s degree from Bucknell University in 1996 and his M.Ed. in Secondary Education from Villanova University in 2000. He went on to earn his Doctor of Education (Ed.D.) in Educational Leadership from Immaculata University in 2004, where he also received his letter of eligibility for the superintendency.
Before leading Henderson, Dr. Sherlock was an assistant principal at Bayard Rustin High School, where he served as a grade-level administrator and had the honor of overseeing the school’s inaugural graduation ceremony. As principal at Henderson, he also led the school through its sesquicentennial (150th) graduation celebration—an historic milestone honoring the school’s enduring legacy.
Dr. Sherlock began his career as a math teacher at Radnor High School, where he also served as head varsity baseball coach, blending his passion for education and athletics. He joined the West Chester Area School District in 2007, serving as assistant principal before stepping into his current role.
Beyond the school, Dr. Sherlock serves as President of the Ches-Mont League and is an active member of the Pennsylvania Interscholastic Athletic Association (PIAA) District One Committee, advocating for strong and equitable interscholastic athletics.
Through his leadership, Dr. Sherlock continues to build on Henderson High School’s proud traditions while advancing a culture of inclusivity, excellence, and community—preparing students for success in school and beyond.
